Lower Extremity Enhancer

We have designed the very first first Lower Extremity Enhancer (LEE). The intention of the proposed device is to provide a person with the ability to carry weights on the order of 120 lbs over any sort of terrain for (24 hours) extended periods of time without undue effort. The primary concerns in the construction have been to create a self-powered device which is ergonomic and highly maneuverable, mechanically robust, lightweight and durable. The machine is comprised of two powered legs that rigidly connect to the person at the foot, a power unit, and a backpack-like frame on which a variety of loads can be mounted. Lower Extremity Enhancer is the foundation for the exoskeleton we are building.
